Arda: What is your creative outlet?
Edokinz: Cosplay and Photography.
Arda: Tell us a little bit about your featured photo!
E: These photos were taken at ColossalCon 2018, with a combination of my great friend OfStrangeShadows using my camera and myself editing. It's of my newest cosplay of Link from Breath of the Wild. I bought the game back in March 2017 and after a few hours of playing, I instantly fell in love with Link.
In total, I spent about 6 hours styling this wig. The result was beautiful but had me very hesitant with how well this wig would hold up for me, as I tried to use more heat styling than hairspray and gel. I wanted it to be able to blow in the wind as you would see in game yet still hold shape, and I feared that things would get tangled in travel or stray hairs would be very obvious. I'm happy to say that after changing into him numerous times throughout the convention time the wig held up miraculously well!
With knowing the scenery at the Kalahari, I knew instantly that if I cosplayed Link anywhere, it had to be at ColossalCon. No other cons around me have such beautiful backdrops that remind me so much of the scenery in Breath of the Wild.
Arda: Which look/costume are you most proud of?
E: I'm most proud of my Yugi Mutou cosplay. He'd been a dream cosplay of mine for the longest time, and back in 2013, I was finally able to make that dream happen. Since then I've been improving him every year that I can afford to. He's come a long way since I first debuted him, and I can't wait to see where I advance with him.
Arda: Do you have a favorite Arda Wig style and/or color?
E: The Inigo and the Hansel are some of my go-to wigs. I find they work for a lot of the characters I like to cosplay.
Arda: What Arda product are you dying to try out?
E: I'm dying to try out a lace wig at some point! I've yet to cosplay a character whose hairline shows predominantly, so I haven't had the chance to purchase and work with one yet.
Arda: Anything else you'd like to tell us?
E: Almost every cosplay I have involves and Arda wig. I know some can be pricey, but I've always found they hold up so well, and styling them becomes so much easier when you know the product you are working with is of a great quality.
